At Rocky River Church we have 3 areas for our younger friends. Nursery is 6 weeks-2 year olds. CreekKidz is our preschool area for children potty trained to 5 years old. RiverKidz is our elementary school aged group for Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Nursery:
Our Nursery is staffed with some of the sweetest people. All our volunteers are background checked and trained to create a safe environment for your young one. We understand that this age is so precious so while you are learning about God in the main service, we want to show the love of Jesus to your sweet babies.
CreekKidz:
We understand that toddlers and preschoolers are a rambunctious group full of love and energy. Once checked in, we have a space specifically designed with them in mind. In CreekKidz, they will have a chance to play and build friendships, while eating a yummy snack of goldfish. Once all our friends arrive we move to a time of worship and we watch the lesson of the week from Ollie through our Think Orange Curriculum. Ollie is a sweet Owl that share the bible story in a way that makes it simple for this age to understand. We try our best to stick to basic truths that God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. After our story time we will do an activity or a craft that goes along with our lesson of the week. Then we continue playing until our friends are picked up.
Riverkidz:
In Riverkidz, we want to make kids feel empowered to live their faith out loud. After being Check in, our elementary students will go with their parents to participate in worship. We feel it is important for our children to be able to learn how to worship Jesus in a congregation at an early age. After, the music is done and before the message, children are dismissed to come to Riverkidz. They will come in to our RiverKidz room where we have a day planned with them in mind. We do a fun worship song together, then we also use Think Orange Curriculum and have a lesson just for them. In Riverkidz our basic truths are I need to make wise choices, I can trust God no matter what, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated. We try to move kids to love God by inciting wonder, move kids to love life by provoking discovery, and move kids to love others by fueling passion. After our large group time where we hear the message, we move to small groups. We split based on grade level because we know there is a big difference between a kindergartner and a 5th grader. In these small groups, they have activities where they will create, discover, play, or think about the lesson. After Small group time, we will come back together for a large group game while parents come and pick up their children after service.
All of our volunteers are members in good standing that are background check and trained for the area they are serving in. We take pride in creating a clean, safe and exciting children’s program during the worship service for your children.
