"While each day will hold its own adventure, a typical day at preschool in the 4 year old class would be as follows:
8:50-9:15 Arrival and Free Play (Table Toys)
9:15-9:30 Large Group Carpet Time
9:30-9:45 Bathroom Break
9:45-10:15 Board Business Time (Main Learning Time)
10:15-10:45 Centers/ Enrichment (Science, Math, Art)
10:45-11:15 Outdoor Free Play
11:15-11:30 Bathroom Break
11:30-12:00 Bible Time and Music
12:00-12:30 Lunch Time
12:30-1:00 Story Time
In the morning, children will come in and get their classroom jobs like line leader or door helper and then they would play with table toys such as legos. Once everyone has arrived for the day, we would all gather on the carpet and do our calendar, weather and talk about the theme of the week. After that the class will use the restroom. After the class is back in the classroom, we go over 'serious board business'. This is our letters, shape, color or anything else we are working on such as sight words. Once that is finished, we move to centers where children pick areas to play in like dress up or dinosaurs. We let their imaginations run wild, just not them that is for outside time which is after centers. But during centers, we have one on one time with different students throughout the week to offer help or challenge their learning. After centers and outdoor free play we have another bathroom break and then we head to Bible Time. This is where we sing praise songs to Jesus and we work through the Bible telling the main stories about God's love for this world. Then it is lunch time, many students favorite time of day. We ask the parents to pack a lunch because we do not have a cafeteria. Once lunch is done and cleaned up, we wind down with a story time and the parents come. Our days are jam packed with learning and fun that your child is sure to enjoy.
